MTNL reduces calling card call charges in Delhi
Virtual calling cards (also known as telephone card) have lost sheen ever since the mobile tariffs have gone down. These prepaid calling cards were once used by the customers who wanted to keep control on telephone expenses and thus did not have outgoing STD/Local facility. But in current scenario ,where call tariffs are very low calling cards have lost its appeal. Since it is a access code based service it’s cumbersome to use and thus adding to customer disenchantment.
With a view to revive the sale of VCC , MTNL Delhi has planned to revise the tariff and thereby aims at making it competitive with prevailing rates. So far the calling rates were on higher side than the prevailing market rates. The new rates will be apply from 16th of March and are as given below:
1. All local Fixed line & the MTNL Delhi + Mumbai fixed line & CDMA network calls : 25 paise/min ( Old rate Re.1/3 min)
2. All local mobile calls : 50 paise/min (old rate Re. 1/min)
3. All STD calls : 65 paise/min ( old rate Re.1/min)
4. ISD calls to USA, Canada ,China, Singapore, Hongkong & Thailand : Re. 1/min (old rate Rs.6.31 /min)
